Handmade Book
In one of my other articles I described how I used my rusted papers in a board book. It’s a great way to make collages with just one disadvantage: the back of the dyed papers is lost. So I made a book with the papers, in a way both front and back is (sort of) visible.
The pages are more shabbier than in the board book, which has its own charm in my view. Where the pieces of paper are too damaged, I have pasted extra scraps, although I have also used scraps to make a page more interesting.
I usually limit my choices in my work, in color or form. In this case, that meant limiting the colors to white, brown, and black, with red as an accent color. Although some papers have a different tone due to the herbs and spices I also used in the dye bath.
Finally, I added accents using stencils and stamps. For this, I used stamp ink and acrylic paint.
The pages of the interior are quite flimsy, which is why I used cardboard for the cover. Fabric also dyes well in a rust bath and lends itself perfectly to a cover. You get a good idea of the result in the video below.

Great color and textures! Really nice!
I love that your text is in foreign languages and alphabets! Where do you find that ephemera?
